For 1 night only bookings there is a $2 surcharge per person. Dorm price includes air conditioning except for the period from May-September inclusive. For other rooms air conditioning is an additional $4 per room.

Cairns City Backpackers Hostel is the ideal Cairns hostel; small, quiet and friendly, and best of all it is ideally located in a quiet backstreet just a short walk from the heart of Cairns and a 5 minute walk to Cairns Central Shopping Centre.
We have a maximum of only 70 guests so it is easy to make lifelong friends here. We are not a Cairns party hostel, and have a quiet time/no drinking time from 10.30 pm to allow guests to get a good nights sleep. However,the free dinners at the Woolshed Pub will help save you money and let you party till late.
Cairns City Backpackers Hostel consists of two fully renovated Queenslander houses loaded with character, and a tropical, fully landscaped garden which includes many grand old palm trees, a cute swimming pool and lots of hammocks and sun lounges for you to chill out in. The hostel also has a sofa area to flop yourself into, and a billiard table to challenge your room mates.
Naturally Cairns City Backpackers has full laundry and kitchen facilities and for keeping in touch with friends we have cheap internet at just $3 per hour, and don't forget to bring your laptops because we have wireless as well! Just what you want from a hostel.

"This is an earthy backpackers where you just might find some peace and quiet (10.30 pm quiet time is strictly enforced). Slate-floored rooms are clean, and the cheap verandah rooms are cosy. Two kitchens and a barbecue make life easier".
