Set in two attractively renovated old houses, it has beds in four bed dorms, singles, doubles and twins. There's a small pool and a garden, but its not a place for late partying."

The hostel is locally owned by Barry and Linda, providing good old-fashioned service for visitors to Cairns, Australia and the surrounding areas.


The Gone Walkabout hostel is conveniently located 5 minutes from the main shopping area and railway station in Cairns and 10 minutes from the center of the city.

We aim to provide a peaceful and friendly stay for our guests, with quiet time at 10pm.
